Double Feature w/THE GOONIES

(1997) dir Barry Sonnenfeld w/Tommy Lee Jones, Will Smith, Linda Fiorentino, Vincent D’Onofrio, Rip Torn [98 min] Lead by the absurdly charming Will Smith, tempered with the stone-faced straight-man skills of Tommy Lee Jones and bolstered by an unhinged performance by bad guy Vincent D’Onofrio, MEN IN BLACK tells the story of a top secret government agency tasked with policing the alien visitors that walk among us undetected. It’s easy to forget but, before crass commercialism took over its legacy, MEN IN BLACK is actually a super-fun, and pretty damn smart, sci-fi/comedy flick.
