(1949) dir Wise w/Robert Ryan, Audrey Totter [73 min; 35mm]
In this, one of the greatest boxing noirs and an inspiration for both Raging Bull and Pulp Fiction, Robert Ryan plays Stoker Thompson, a washed up boxer nearing the end of his career. In the middle of a match with a heavily-favored, younger fighter, Stoker discovers that his manager has made a deal with a ruthless gangster to throw the fight.
