This moody Western noir, features Mitchum as Jim Garry, a cowboy drifter who finds himself in the middle of a complicated scheme to relieve an honest rancher of his cattle. Though he first teams with the swindler, Garry soon switches sides after becoming enamored with the rancher’s daughter (Geddes).
