(2002) dir Chistopher Nolan w/Al Pacino, Martin Donovan, Hilary Swank, Robin Williams [118 min; 35mm]
Though he mostly played a good guy in his film work, every once in a while Williams would let his dark side take full control for a role. In Christopher Nolan’s first big budget film (after the breakout success of Memento), Williams brilliantly embodies the antagonist to Al Pacino’s troubled and unstable police detective.

“Gripping, highly dramatic thriller that more than confirms the distinctive talent of young Brit helmer Christopher Nolan.” –Variety
