(1979) dir Ivan Reitman w/Bill Murray, Chris Makepeace, Harvey Atkin, Kate Lynch [94 min; DCP]
In his first starring role, Murray appears as Tripper Harrison, the renegade head counselor of a run-down summer camp, Camp North Star. North Star is on a 12-year losing streak to the upscale Camp Mohawk across the lake in their annual summer Olympiad. It’s just possible, though, that this year holds the right combination of irreverence, determination, and inspiration that will give them the edge that they need to win.
