THE MUMMY

(1932) dir Karl Freund w/Boris Karloff, Zita Johann, David Manners, Arthur Byron [73 min; DCP]
Deep inky shadows hide a figure swathed in bandages, a shaft of light illuminates his gaunt and wrinkled visage… a face unseen for thousands of years. This is Imhotep (Karloff), an ancient Egyptian mummy unwittingly brought back to life by an archaeological team. Now, Imhotep prowls modern London searching for the reincarnation of his lost love, Ankh-es-enamon.
