Repertory Series ArchiveThe Women Who Built Hollywood

Min and Bill (canceled)

We regret that we must cancel our screenings of MIN AND BILL as no prints are currently in circulation. DINNER AT EIGHT shows in its place – please see calendar for showtimes.

(1930) dir George W. Hill w/Marie Dressler, Wallace Beery, Dorothy Jordan; Frances Marion scr [66 min; 35mm]
After several ups-and-downs in showbiz, Marie Dressler found her ideal onscreen match in Wallace Beery and an offscreen friend in screenwriter Frances Marion. This team helped Dressler win the Oscar for Best Actress in 1930 for her role in this comedic drama about an innkeeper (Dressler) who cobbles together a family with her adopted daughter (Jordan) and soused fisherman Bill (Beery) while keeping the seediness of the docks outside at bay. *Tentative. Please call to confirm.
