Double Feature with I AM LOVE (7:00)

(2015) dir Luca Guadagnino w/Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Dakota Johnson, Matthias Schoenaerts [125 min; DCP]
Famous rock star Marianne Lane (Swinton) and her boyfriend Paul (Schoenaerts) are in seclusion on a remote Mediterranean island while she recovers from throat surgery. Lost in an idyll, they are descended upon by brash music producer Harry (Fiennes) and his here-to-fore unknown daughter (Johnson). As the orbits of these four cross and collide, complications arise that lead to tragedy.

“A study in charisma, with two wildly different performances at its center.” – Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times

A Bigger Splash has a pleasing richness wherein the sensual elements bind the individual characters to each other, and to nature.” – Betsy Sherman, The Arts Fuse

“You watch “A Bigger Splash” mesmerized by its creamy surfaces and mildly antsy as to what, exactly, is going on.” – Ty Burr, Boston Globe
