SLAPPY AND THE STINKERS is a movie about five children who, god forgive them, are back on their bullshit. B.D. WONG plays their strict headmaster, determined to expel them for troublemaking. JENNIFER COOLIDGE plays the headmaster’s assistant, and for some reason maintains a marblemouthed Scandinavian accent throughout the film. BRONSON PINCHOT plays the burnout grunger groundsman and bus driver, on the school’s payroll but on the Stinkers’ team. A SEAL plays Slappy the Sea Lion, a circus animal kidnapped by THE STINKERS twenty minutes into the film for no good reason.

How else to describe this film? THE GOONIES, if it were Chaotic Neutral rather than Chaotic Good? The most INSANE SCENERY-CHEWING, NO-PANTS PERFORMANCE you’ll ever see from B.D. Wong, INCLUDING that time he karaoked Tori Amos’ “Leather” on OZ? NATIONAL LAMPOON’S “FREE WILLY”???

Be there TUESDAY at 7:30 PM for the SEA LION-BASED CHILDREN’S COMEDY we ALMOST considered “TOO KNOWINGLY SUBVERSIVE” to screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TRASH NIGHTWe’re excited to welcome TRASH NIGHT, one of Boston’s best underground comedy/film events, to the Brattle! Once a month TRASH NIGHT selects one F-grade, sub-cult cinematic wonder and unleashes it on an unsuspecting audience – with original video weirdness seeded throughout. This is one of the rare times at the Brattle when audience participation is not only encouraged, it’s required!
