Staff Picks for the January-February 2018 Schedule

STAFF PICKWe’re back with staff picks for the winter schedule, and a couple films really stand out with multiple nods. Alissa, Kim, Moussou, and Yangqiao are excited for METROPOLIS, while Alma, Petra, and Moussou can’t wait to see GET OUT again, and just about everyone is looking forward to the premiere of BPM (BEATS PER MINUTE). Check out the complete list after the jump…

Alissa:

Alissa Darsa is the Brattle’s Development Associate.

Alma:

  • GET OUT: The longer I’ve sat with this film, the more I realize how remarkable it is. GET OUT is an amazing blend of horror and satire and through it, director Jordan Peele has created a fresh way to bring up issues of racism, mass incarceration, and institutional disenfranchisement. I’m so excited for the chance to see it on the big screen again and for the discussions it’s guaranteed to inspire.
  • CASABLANCA: Seeing CASABLANCA at the Brattle should be on everybody’s bucket list.
  • A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH: We screened this film a couple schedules ago and during that run, people kept coming up to the concessions stand to rave about this film. Very excited it’s back so I can see what all the hype is about!

Alma Macbride is a member of the Brattle concessions staff.

Damon:

Damon Bishop is a member of the Brattle concession staff.

Dave:

Dave Leamon is a member of the Brattle projection staff.
