Reel Film Day!

Double Feature with NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN (4:30, 9:15)

(2000) dir Joel & Ethan Coen w/George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, John Goodman, Holly Hunter, Charles Durning [107 min; 35mm]
A high point for both the Coens and Deakins, O BROTHER is not only a fantastically entertaining film about a hapless trio of Depression Era, work-gang escapees but it is also a milestone in the filmmaking process. Shot amongst the lush green foliage of Mississippi, Deakins ended up spending weeks color correcting the film digitally to produce the earthy, sepia tone of the finished film.
