Chlotrudis Awards

The Twenty-Fifth Annual!

Additional InfoFacebook Event

On Sunday, March 17, The Brattle Theatre will host the 25th annual Chlotrudis Awards! The Chlotrudis Society will announce their picks for the best indie films of 2018, entertain and potentially embarrass with musical numbers, take a look at how much indie film viewing has changed over the past 25 years, and honor some special guests. This year, the most nominated films are Madeline’s Madeline with 8 nods and Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria with 6. See the complete list of nominees →

Take a look at this year’s amazing line-up of guests! We’ve got an amazingly talented actress, Robin Weigert (Concussion; Take Me to the River; Deadwood), an award-winning composer, Lesley Barber, (Manchester by the Sea; You Can Count on Me; Mansfield Park), triple-threat writer/director/actor Don McKellar (Last Night; The Drowsy Chaperone; Blindness) and Chlotrudis Award winning director/editor Wiebke von Carolsfeld (Marion Bridge; The Saver). Follow the Chlotrudis Awards Facebook Event for additional updates.

For 25 years, the Boston-based Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film has been handing out awards to the most deserving indies released in Boston. Since 1996 when The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert took home top honors, these idiosyncratic cinephiles have been highlighting films outside the mainstream – often eschewing the more popular picks of the Oscars. Past guests have included Ellen Page, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kerry Washington, Hal Hartley, Geneviève Bujold, and more!
