This is the tumultuous story of Manivelle, an automaton whose rise and fall mirrors that of Lebanon itself. Once the wonder of his age, today Manivelle is a rusty and mostly forgotten curiosity. Could the immortal “Man of Tomorrow” really be dying and if so, what are his regrets?

James is the last human on Earth, raised and protected by a humanoid robot who brings him up on a strange religion described in a handheld device called The Manual. As his faith in The Manual is shaken, James sets out to test one of the The Manual’s core belief: reincarnation to the next life in the city of the Creator.
