The Brattle Theatre is located in Brattle Hall at 40 Brattle Street just one block from the Harvard Square MBTA Red Line T stop. We are located between Eastern Mountain Sports and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. The theatre entrance is on the left side of the building - look for our sidewalk poster case.

By Car, From North or South

Take Route I-93 to Storrow Drive and follow signs to Cambridge. Turn off at the Harvard Square exit. Turn right onto John F. Kennedy Street and cross the Charles River and Memorial Drive.Turn left onto Eliot Street, and left again onto Bennett Street. Continue past the Charles Hotel (on left), then turn left onto University Road; the entrance to University Place parking garage will be on your immediate right.

By Car, From West of Boston

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) East. Exit immediately after the Allston tolls, following signs for Cambridge. Enter Storrow Drive West (toward Newton). Turn right onto John F. Kennedy Street. Turn left onto Eliot Street, and left again onto Bennett Street. Continue past the Charles Hotel (on left), then turn left onto University Road; the entrance to University Place parking garage will be on your immediate right.

Walking From University Place Garage to the Brattle Theatre

Exit the garage onto Mt. Auburn Street. Cross the street and enter the alley adjacent to Kinko's Copy Center. Continue to walk down the alley and through the passageway at the end. At the end of the passageway you will find yourself on Brattle Street, with the Brattle Theatre on your right. The theatre entrance is on the left side of the building on the lower level.

Take the MBTA Red Line to the Harvard Square stop. Use the Brattle Street exit through the bus way. When you reach the top of the stairs you will see Brattle Street ahead to the right. The Brattle Theatre is the second building on the left side of the street, next to Wainwright Bank and Eastern Mountain Sports.

*Accessible Route: Take the MBTA red line to the Harvard Square stop. Use the central elevator adjacent to the Dunkin Donuts kiosk to reach street level. Cross the street toward The Coop and bear left down Brattle Street. Continue down two blocks toward Eastern Mountain Sports. You will need to cross Brattle Street at the corner in front of Eastern Mountain Sports as this is the only curb cut before you reach the theatre. Continue to the right, and from this point you should be able to see our sidewalk marquee.

Use the walkway on the left side of the building and follow the ramp toward the rear where it will switch back and you will be able to reach the box office window and our elevator entrance. The manager on duty will assist you in using our elevator to gain access to the theatre.
