Now Serving Wine!
We are pleased to announce that we're now serving wine at our concessions stand! Try the red with an Edgar Allan Poe film, or pair the white with TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE, either way you're sure to enjoy our new Montepulciano and Sauvignon Blanc!
Dario D'Angelo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (2007) - Montepulciano is the grape and Abruzzo is the region (about midway down Italy's East Coast). The region is renowned for wines that offer trememendous bang for the buck and this one is a perfect example. Ripe and juicy with silky tannins and a luscious mouth-watering acidity. Black cherries and plums laced with juniper, black olive and leather and espresso.
La Fortuna Sauvignon Blanc (2009) - Certified Organic Fair Trade and even vegan (a verifiable one stop shop for the conscientious Brattle film-goer! More elegant than a typical New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, but more fun than its counterpart form the Loire, this wine is brimming with flavors of candied grapefruit, meyer lemon and lime zest, while flavors of grass, gardenia and cilantro add complexity. Coming Soon: Beer & Wine!
The moment we here in the office have been anticipating for months is almost upon us! We’re not sure exactly when, but, having successfully navigated the channels of bureaucracy, we can say the day is imminent when we will be adding beer and wine to our concessions menu!
So what do we need from you? Why... To tell us which beer related film you want to celebrate with, of course! Do you prefer the Canadian antics of Bob & Doug Mackenzie in STRANGE BREW or the quintessentially American antics of everyone in ANIMAL HOUSE? Perhaps the surreal, retro-style of Guy Maddin’s SADDEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD is more to your taste. On the other hand, maybe the zombie infested zaniness of SHAUN OF THE DEAD is more your cup of… um… beer. And, of course, there’s the sheer madness of Broken Lizard’s BEERFEST!
Whatever your preferred flavor of lager might be, we’re inviting you all to vote on which movie will be shown in a special screening with beer-a-flowing as soon as we have all of the proper permits in hand - which could be as soon as next week! [posted 6/5/09]
» Head on over to our poll to choose your favorite!
