Welles’ MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS, despite merciless cuts mandated by the studio (some enacted by editor Robert Wise himself), remains a remarkable, gorgeous film about a rich Midwestern family at the turn of the 20th century.

This event is free and open to the public.

A. S. Hamrah is the film critic for n+1, the Brooklyn-based magazine of literature, culture, and politics. His writing also appears in The Baffler, Cineaste, Bookforum, and other publications.
