Dir. Hanno Olderdissen. Germany 2015, 85 min. German with English subtitles.
Happy gay couple gallery owner David (Max von Pufendorf ) and high school coach Khaled (Omar El – Saeidi) would love to marry publicly – if there weren’t Khaled’s Arab family – especially his homophobic father Aledrissi (Ramin Yazdani) and David’s pseudo orthodox jewish acting mother Lea (Maren Kroymann).

Suddenly the pregnant Sarah (Franziska Brandmeier) arrives on their doorstep claiming that her child was David’s, (the result of a night partying in Berlin) everything seems to get out of control. Misunderstandings, outing fears, a possible paternity and a gallery insolvency are driving these contradictory families into an emotional chaos and beyond their borders.

Dir. Blake Pruitt. USA 2015, 15 min.
A young gay editor who dreams of performing is pushed into a new creative world by an online hookup. Shot on a combination of 16mm and digital, Read Aloud explores performance on and off stage.

Dear Brattle Friends,

You guys continue to humble and amaze us with your outpouring of support!

Thanks to you, we have now raised more than $35,000 from over 400 individual donors!

Thank you for helping to keep our staff paid and The Brattle alive during this scary time.

I hope that you are all feeling healthy.

As we remain closed, our preliminary goal is to raise four weeks of operating support, or $65,000, to ensure we can continue to pay all of our staff, and other overhead through April 7. As things develop, our timeline for being closed and fundraising goal may change, but our ultimate goal of re-opening The Brattle stays firm.

With your help, this goal will become a reality.

Stay healthy,

Ivy, Ned & The Brattle Theatre Team
