Double Feature with VIVRE SA VIE
1962 • dir Agnès Varda w/Corinne Marchand • 90 min • DCP
In Agnès Varda’s wondrous CLEO FROM 5 TO 7, a singer attempts to go about her normal business while waiting for the results of a fateful medical test. The deceptively simple premise allows Varda to dance through a multitude of topics from politics to sexism to mortality to the emotional nature of art. Legrand composed the music and songs for the film and also appears as “Bob the Pianist” in one memorable sequence.
