HOLLYWOOD WHODUNNITS
Double Feature with SLEUTH (6:00)
1982 • dir Sidney Lumet w/Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, Dyan Cannon • 116 min • DCP
Another cat-and-mouse film rife with wonderful twists, DEATHTRAP again features Michael Caine but this time, he is the senior to Christopher Reeves’ handsome younger man – and the conflict isn’t over a woman, it’s over a play. Again, not so much a whodunnit as a what-could-happen-next, DEATHTRAP is a theatrical meta-fiction joy to experience.
