Directions and Parking
The Brattle Theatre is located in Brattle Hall at 40 Brattle Street just one block from the Harvard Square MBTA Red Line T stop. We are located between Eastern Mountain Sports and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. The building is shared with Algiers Cafe, and Alden & Harlow Restaurant, and the theatre entrance is on the left side of the building—look for our sidewalk poster case and marquee.
On-Street Parking
Metered parking spaces are available throughout Harvard Square, however spaces are limited and competition for them can be difficult and time consuming. We recommend use of public transportation when possible, or choose one of the discount parking garages above.

The box office and lobby/concessions area are accessible from street level by ramp (see below), and an elevator is provided for access to the main floor of the theater. There are two dedicated wheelchair positions with companion seating at the front of the theater, as well as flexible seating at the rear adjacent to the elevator door. Ramp Access: Use the walkway on the left side of the building and follow the ramp toward the rear of the building, where it will switch back toward the box office window, lobby and elevator entrance. The manager on duty will assist you in using our elevator to access the theatre.
We encourage you to contact us or call 617 876-6838 ahead of your visit if you or anyone in your party require special assistance.
*Accessible Route from Harvard Square Subway/Busway
Take the MBTA red line to the Harvard Square stop. Use the elevator adjacent to the Dunkin Donuts kiosk (or the new Brattle Square elevator in the busway) to reach street level (see MBTA.com for system-wide accessibility updates).
From main elevator near fare gates: At ground level, cross the street toward the corner newsstand/Harvard Coop and bear left down Brattle Street toward Brattle Square. Continue down one block to the corner opposite Eastern Mountain Sports. (follow directions below…)
From busway elevator/Brattle Square: Cross Brattle Street at the corner in front of Eastern Mountain Sports as this is the only crossing before you reach the theatre. After crossing, continue to the right of Eastern Mountain Sports, where you should see our sidewalk marquee. The Brattle Theatre shares the building with Algiers Cafe and Alden & Harlow Restaurant.
