D*mn Fine Cinema: The Films of David Lynch

Monday, February 23 – Thursday, March 5, 2015

2015 marks the 25th anniversary of David Lynch’s landmark television series TWIN PEAKS and, to celebrate, we’re presenting this series of his films alongside special screenings of the series’ pilot. It’s no secret that Lynch is a favorite of us here at the Brattle. He sits on our advisory board and we welcomed him for a rare personal appearance with his 2006 feature INLAND EMPIRE. But, beyond our direct connection, we also recognize him as one of the most influential directors of the twentieth century. The impact of his idiosyncratic filmography can be seen well beyond the realm of film and TV – music, design, art, and fashion have all been affected by his unique vision and sensibilities. So it is with great pleasure that we present this program that is set to include all of his feature films (pending availability on some prints) and a selection of his short film and commercial work, as well as special screenings of TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME and the TWIN PEAKS PILOT. So join us beginning on February 23 – the night of Laura’s murder – for a journey into the mind of a unique film artist.
