Virtual Program Highlights:
The Brattle is thrilled to welcome back the fine folks from the Film Noir Foundation for a second year exploring the shadowy side of the cinematic street. Film noir screenings have been a tradition at the Brattle since – well – the beginning but it was only last year that we hooked up with the ongoing NOIR CITY festivals to present a dedicated Boston edition. Film Noir Foundation honcho and Turner Classic Movies host Eddie Muller will be on hand to introduce a spectacular selection of movies that he has handpicked to highlight the dark art of noir filmmaking. This year’s theme is ‘Film noir of the 1950s’ and that decade’s preoccupations – from racial tension to nuclear terror to the price of defying conformity – are on full display across these 5 double features.
