20th Century Fox 75th Anniversary, Part 1

Part 1: Wednesday, November 24 – Sunday, November 28
Repertory Series

Bump-bump, bump-bump, baaaaah-dump-bump! There is hardly a more iconic fanfare for a movie studio than 20th Century Fox’s admittedly austentatious vamp. And for generations it has heralded the beginning of a remarkably wide range of films. The Brattle is pleased to celebrate this legendary studio on the occaision of its 75th birthday! This first of a multi part celebration features a collection of newly struck prints and restorations. From the star-driven early days when Fox banked on Marilyn Monroe and others, to the revolutionary game-changing films of the 60s and 70s, to the outrageous cult hits of the 80s, this small slice of Fox’s vast catalog serves as a brief introduction with more to come!

Boston Society of Film Critics members will introduce select shows:
Steve Vineberg introduces ALL ABOUT EVE on Fri, Nov 26 at 5:00
Ed Symkus introduces BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA on Sat, Nov 27 at 9:45
Tom Meek introduces BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID on Sun, Nov 28 at 7:15

Dear Brattle Friends,

You guys continue to humble and amaze us with your outpouring of support!

Thanks to you, we have now raised more than $35,000 from over 400 individual donors!

Thank you for helping to keep our staff paid and The Brattle alive during this scary time.

I hope that you are all feeling healthy.

As we remain closed, our preliminary goal is to raise four weeks of operating support, or $65,000, to ensure we can continue to pay all of our staff, and other overhead through April 7. As things develop, our timeline for being closed and fundraising goal may change, but our ultimate goal of re-opening The Brattle stays firm.

With your help, this goal will become a reality.

Stay healthy,

Ivy, Ned & The Brattle Theatre Team
